5 Λόγοι να μην διστάσετε να μιλήσετε με έναν ξένο συνομιλητή

Είναι καλοκαίρι, προχωράτε ανέμελοι στο δρόμο, ενώ παράλληλα σκέφτεστε όλα τα νέα μέρη που θα ανακαλύψετε στις προσεχείς σας διακοπές. Ξαφνικά, μια παρέα από τουρίστες με σακίδια στον ώμο, σας πλησιάζει δείχνοντας σας ένα χάρτη και σας ρωτά απελπισμένα “-Can you please, help us?”.

Φυσικά και μπορείτε! Και όχι μόνο μπορείτε να τους βοηθήσετε στα αγγλικά, αλλά καταλάβατε ότι μιλάνε ισπανικά, τη γλώσσα που μαθαίνετε εδώ και δύο χρόνια! Στην πραγματικότητα, μπορείτε να τους απαντήσετε κατευθείαν στα ισπανικά και να βάλετε τέλος σ’ όλη αυτή την κατάσταση σε μερικά μόνο λεπτά.

Τι κάνετε λοιπόν; Συνεχίζετε να μιλάτε στα αγγλικά; Το παίρνετε απόφαση να μιλήσετε ισπανικά; Ή για μία ακόμα φορά, κουνάτε το κεφάλι σας αρνητικά, πολύ απλά επειδή νιώθετε απόλυτα τρομοκρατημένοι να μιλήσετε μια ξένη γλώσσα;

Γνωρίζω καλά ότι έχετε βρεθεί σ’ αυτή τη θέση και ελπίζω ότι, όποια και να ήταν η αρχική σας αντίδραση σ’ αυτή την περίπτωση, αυτό το άρθρο θα σας βοηθήσει να αισθανθείτε μεγαλύτερη αυτοπεποίθηση και άνεση να μιλήσετε με ένα συνομιλητή που μιλά ως μητρική του, τη γλώσσα που εσείς μαθαίνετε. Υπάρχουν ορισμένοι λόγοι για τους οποίους δεν πρέπει να σταματάτε τον εαυτό σας από το να μιλήσει σε κάποιο αλλόγλωσσο.

  1. Δεν είναι ποτέ τόσο άσχημα όσο νομίζετε.

Είναι σίγουρο ότι πριν από οποιοδήποτε μεγάλο τεστ ή παρουσίαση ενός project στη δουλειά σας, ακόμα και πριν από μια ομιλία που ίσως χρειαστεί να κάνετε μπροστά από ένα μεγαλύτερο κοινό, έχετε νιώσει, ακριβώς το ίδιο άγχος να σας καταβάλλει. Παρόλα αυτά όμως, το κάνατε. Τη στιγμή, ειδικά που το ολοκληρώσατε, νιώσατε τεράστια ανακούφιση και καταλάβατε ότι τελικά δεν ήταν τόσο άσχημα όσο πιστεύατε. Αυτή ακριβώς είναι η ίδια λογική που χρειάζεται να έχετε όταν ετοιμάζεστε να μιλήσετε μια ξένη γλώσσα.

Πρέπει απλά να το τολμήσετε! Μετά από τις πρώτες λέξεις που θα προφέρετε, δεν θα νιώθετε την ίδια διστακτικότητα, ειδικά όταν βλέπετε τη θετική αντίδραση και βοήθεια από τον ξένο συνομιλητή μπροστά σας. Πριν, λοιπόν, δημιουργήσετε ένα ολόκληρο σενάριο καταστροφολογίας για το πως θα πάει η συζήτηση, απλά ξεκινήστε να μιλάτε και στο τέλος θα δείτε ότι τελικά δεν ήταν τόσο άσχημα τα πράγματα.

  1. Τα λάθη.

Και αν τα πω λάθος; Αν χρησιμοποιήσω λάθος χρόνο; Αν δεν μου ’ρθει η λέξη που ψάχνω; Ε, ναι! Όλα αυτά πρόκειται να συμβούν! Θα κάνετε άπειρα λάθη τις πρώτες φορές που θα μιλήσετε μια άλλη γλώσσα. Είναι φυσικό να κάνετε εξίσου μεγάλα και μικρά λάθη, τα οποία θα έχουν σχέση με τη συντακτική δομή, με τη γραμματική και με το λεξιλόγιο. Κάποια από αυτά, θα είναι πραγματικά τόσο ΤΕΡΑΣΤΙΑ που τη στιγμή που θα τα κάνετε, θα καταλάβετε από μόνοι σας τη σοβαρότητα τους και κατά πάσα πιθανότητα, θα σκεφτείτε ακριβώς εκείνη τη στιγμή: «Τι στο καλό μόλις είπα;», αλλά θα το προσπεράσετε πολύ γρήγορα καθώς η συζήτηση έχει ήδη προχωρήσει παρακάτω.

Το να κάνουμε λάθη, αποτελεί αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι κάθε εκπαιδευτικής διαδικασίας. Αποδεχθείτε το και μάθετε να γελάτε με τα λάθη σας. Το να είστε τόσο αυστηροί, απόλυτοι και να φοβόσαστε ότι θα σας κρίνουν, δεν θα σας βοηθήσει καθόλου να μιλήσετε μια ξένη γλώσσα. Γι’ αυτό λοιπόν, ξεκινήστε να κάνετε τεράστια και γελοία λάθη που θα σας κάνουν και εσάς τους ίδιους να γελάσετε με τον εαυτό σας. Και πάλι όμως, θα νιώθετε περήφανοι που προσπαθήσατε και που καταφέρατε να μιλήσετε έστω και λίγο, ακόμα και με τα τέλεια λάθη σας. Σιγά σιγά θα εξαφανίζονται και αυτά…

  1. Η επανάληψη.

Τις πρώτες φορές που θα μιλήσετε με έναν ξένο ομιλητή, θα νιώσετε την ανάγκη να του ζητήσετε να επαναλάβει αρκετές φορές αυτό που είπε είτε γιατί η ταχύτητά σας δεν είναι η ίδια, είτε γιατί η προφορά του είναι διαφορετική απ’ ότι περιμένατε και δεν καταλάβατε με την πρώτη φορά. Κανένα πρόβλημα. Ζητήστε από τον συνομιλητή σας να επαναλάβει αργά και καθαρά, ενώ παράλληλα του εξηγείτε ότι ακόμα μαθαίνετε τη γλώσσα. Πιστέψτε με, κανένας δεν θα σας παρεξηγήσει.

Όπως είναι φυσικό, κάτι τέτοιο θα σας σπάει τα νεύρα, ειδικά τις πρώτες φορές που μιλάτε σε κάποιο αλλόγλωσσο ενώ παράλληλα θα συνειδητοποιείτε ότι μπορείτε να χρησιμοποιήσετε πολύ λιγότερες λέξεις σ’αυτή τη γλώσσα, απ’ ότι νομίζατε. Δεν πειράζει. Να επιμείνετε όπως και να έχει. Συνεχίστε να ζητάτε από το άλλο άτομο, να επαναλάβει, να διευκρινίσει και να σας παρέχει παραδείγματα. Είναι απόλυτα σίγουρο ότι θα φτάσει η στιγμή που θα μπορείτε να κάνετε μια ολοκληρωμένη συζήτηση χωρίς να υπάρξει καμία επανάληψη από την άλλη πλευρά.

  1. Έλλειψη αυτοπεποίθησης.

Πόσες φορές έχετε απομακρυνθεί από κάτι που θέλατε με όλη σας την καρδιά επειδή νιώσατε τεράστιο άγχος ότι θα ρεζιλευτείτε, θα ντροπιαστείτε ή κάποιος θα σας κοροϊδέψει; Πόσες φορές το μετανιώσατε που δεν προσπαθήσατε καν, και αναρωτιόσαστε πώς θα είχαν εξελιχθεί τα πράγματα εάν είχατε προσπαθήσει;

Ας είμαστε ειλικρινείς, κανείς δεν γεννήθηκε με απόλυτη αυτοπεποίθηση. Η αυτοπεποίθηση είναι κάτι που χτίζεται βαθμιαία με κάθε επιτυχημένη προσπάθεια, μικρότερη ή μεγαλύτερη. Έρχεται από τη στιγμή που καταλαβαίνουμε ότι ακριβώς τη στιγμή που είμαστε έτοιμοι να αποτύχουμε, η επιτυχία ήρθε την επόμενη μέρα. Όταν συνεχίζουμε να προσπαθούμε, να βάζουμε νέους στόχους και να μην αποθαρρυνόμαστε με τις αποτυχίες μας, τότε αυξάνεται σιγά σιγά η αυτοπεποίθησή μας.

Το να μιλήσουμε δυνατά μια ξένη γλώσσα, θα μας τρομάξει όλους την πρώτη φορά αλλά κάθε φορά ου θα το κάνουμε θα γίνεται όλο και καλύτερο. Ειδικά όταν οι άνθρωποι γύρω καταλαβαίνουν τι λέμε και απαντούν σ’ αυτά που ρωτάμε.

Αλλά, για να γίνουν όλα αυτά, πρέπει να ξεκινήσουμε!

  1. Έλλειψη εξάσκησης.

Όταν ένας άνθρωπος δεν έχει εξασκηθεί επαρκώς στο παρελθόν, είναι λογικό να νιώσει τεράστιο άγχος όταν ξεκινήσει απότομα να έχει κανονικές συζητήσεις σε μια ξένη γλώσσα. Παρόλα αυτά, μπορείτε να κάνετε πιο ομαλή την πορεία σας προς τις καθημερινές συνομιλίες σε μια ξένη γλώσσα, ακολουθώντας αυτά τα μικρά βήματα:

♠ Ξεκινήστε να μιλάτε με κάποιον στο Ίντερνετ.

Αρχικά, σας δίνεται η ευκαιρία να απαντήσετε με την ησυχία σας και όχι αμέσως. Παράλληλα, μπορείτε να βρείτε λέξεις στο λεξικό και να τις χρησιμοποιήσετε. Τέλος, το άλλο άτομο, δεν βλέπει το πρόσωπο σας και τις εκφράσεις σας, κάτι που μπορεί να επιφέρει μεγάλο άγχος στην αρχή.

♠ Προετοιμάστε νοητά όλη τη διαδικασία πριν έρθει η στιγμή να μιλήσετε σε κάποιο αλλόγλωσσο.

Την ώρα που διαβάζετε ή που είστε μόνοι, αξίζει να σκεφτείτε και να προγραμματίσετε το μυαλό σας για το τι θα κάνει την ώρα που θα γίνει μια προφορική συνομιλία. Επιλέξτε ένα καθημερινό θέμα όπως είναι ο καιρός, ή ένα πιο περίπλοκο, ανάλογα με το επίπεδο σας στη γλώσσα. Σκεφτείτε λέξεις ή εκφράσεις που θα μπορούσατε να χρησιμοποιήσετε για να ξεκινήσετε τη συζήτηση, εν διαμέσω της και για να την κλείσετε. Επίσης, ποιες λέξεις ή φράσεις έχετε μάθει πρόσφατε και θα θέλατε να χρησιμοποιήσετε.

♠ Ξεκινήστε να κάνετε εξάσκηση σε περιστάσεις που σας επιτρέπεται να είστε «ο αρχάριος».

Είναι αναγκαίο, πριν βρεθείτε σε κανονικές συζητήσεις, όπου το άλλο άτομο ίσως περιμένει αρκετή ώρα για να συνδυάσετε τις σκέψεις σας με τις κατάλληλες λέξεις, ν εκπαιδευτείτε ως αρχάριοι. Με την παρουσία και τη βοήθεια ενός δασκάλου ή ενός ομιλητή που μαθαίνει παράλληλα τη δική σας γλώσσα (exchange language partner), θα αισθανθείτε σίγουρα πιο χαλαροί, αφού οι συνομιλητές σας γνωρίζουν το επίπεδό σας και θα σας βοηθήσουν να τελειοποιήσετε την έκφρασή σας στη γλώσσα.

What you have just described is absolutely normal for every writer and yes, I have a tip to offer. First of all, before you start writing, make sure that you are in a happy and comfortable to you environment and no matter what goes on around you this is your time to focus and write. Before you actually start writing, take a small piece of paper and pencil, write down the topic you want to write about and underneath it write a small outline with your main ideas in bullets. Then, slowly start writing based on your plan on the paper.
      Of course, not all days relish the same inspiration and effortless writing but the goal is to keep on writing!I sincerely hope that my advice will help and I wish you the best of luck with your writing! I will be more than happy to hear your progress on it!
